Climate Exhibition 2022 held at IUB

Students from various universities presented their innovative ideas on confronting climate change in Bangladesh.

On the occasion of World Environment Day 2022, the Christian Commission for Development in Bangladesh (CCDB) and the Green Planet Club of the Department of Environmental Science and Management of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) jointly organized the competition Climate Exhibition 2022 on Thursday.

Students from various universities presented their innovative ideas on confronting climate change in Bangladesh.

Ninety posters and prototypes were displayed at the Multipurpose Hall of IUB.

Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof Niaz Ahmed Khan and Prof Md Abdul Khaleque of IUB and CCDB executive director opened the competition with inspiring speeches for the participants.

The CCDB will demonstrate the award-winning posters and prototypes at its Climate Park which will be opened for general visitors on October 1.

The competition was on developing posters and prototype models on climate change.

Altogether 360 students from various universities participated in the competition by submitting their ideas. Out of them, 90 ideas were shortlisted for the final round.

Winners will receive Tk1 lakh as prize money and their ideas will be demonstrated and further scaled up at CCDB Climate Centre in Gazipur.
